Prayer Group

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”

A small group has been holding prayer for our community and our assembly online every Sunday morning for about a year. With the change of the service times, we are moving our zoom prayer time to 7:30 a.m. We also wish to extend an invitation for you to join us. Please contact the office if you would like to become a regular participant in this prayer time.

Family Fridays

For six weeks this summer we are going to have a family picnic and Bible Study on Fridays from 5-7pm starting July 2nd. Tentatively, it is scheduled to be held at Ann Green Park. This may change depending on whether the Health Department opens the pavilions back up for use. Our hope is also to provide basic summer favorites (hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, etc.) though it may have to be a BYOD “Bring Your Own Dinner” depending on the COVID situation.

  • Food and fellowship will be followed up with a simple study every week. Lessons will not build. We plan on people missing a week here and there. But, if you’re available on any of those Fridays between July 2nd and August 6th, bring your family, your Bible, and come join us.

Mask Requirements

“You shall love the Lord your God … and love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37–39, ESV)

During this pandemic, love for our neighbor is expressed in the ways we protect each other from getting infected.

In light of new directives from the governor’s office, Carrollton First UMC will be requiring that you wear a mask as you enter the church building. Masks may be removed when you reach your seat in the worship space. If for any reason you would leave your seat, please once again put on your mask.
We ask that you please look upon wearing a mask as an act of charity rather than an infringement of your rights.

Africa University

Africa University is the first and only fully-accredited institution of higher learning established on the African continent by action of the General Conference of The United Methodist Church. It was founded in 1992 in Mutare, Zimbabwe, at the request of African Bishops who wanted a university for the whole of Africa to foster intellectual, moral, ethical, and spiritual growth in its students. Because of the lack of on-campus housing, many students walk very far every day in remote areas to come to Africa University. Female students become targets for human trafficking and prostitution.

Our East Ohio Bishop Tracy Malone has the vision of East Ohio churches building a women’s dorm to house 90 students which will provide a safe, secure environment and a community of support. Our church’s Discipleship Board in Jan. voted to participate in this project. In 2 years time, we hope to raise $20,000 to pay for 1 student room which will house 2 female students.  Any extra money will go to finish the room inside. Checks can be written out to our church with “AU” on the memo line.
